Trissexodon constrictus is a species of land snail, a gastropod in the family Trissexodontidae.

Trissexodon constrictus is the type species of the genus Trissexodon.

Distribution

It is found in France and Spain: from western Pyrenees to Biscay.[3] It is endemic species of western Pyrenees.[3]

Description

The shell is finely and regularly ribbed.[3] It is strongly depressed on upper side.[3] The lower side is rounded.[3] The shell has 5-6 whorls.[3] The aperture is with characteristic shape.[3] The lip is reflected and forming a U when seen from above.[3] Umbilicus is deep and covers 1/7 of shell diameter.[3]

The width of the shell is 6-8 mm.[3] The height of the shell is 3-4 mm.[3]

Ecology

Trissexodon constrictus can be found under stones in the soil of humid and shady forests, between moss and under leaves, from sea level to 800 m, exceptionally 1500 m.[3]
